1. Know who you’re getting into business with.

The heading says it all. Understand that everyone in your organization has their own personal agenda. If your long-term goals do not align with your partner(s) you’re going to have issues.

2. Market your niche and make friends.

The main reason startup businesses fail within the first year is a lack of cash flow. We learned to expand our services to meet the needs of our clients and work with other local organizations to provide the things we couldn’t. It’s a win-win for everyone, even the client. Everyone will be happier, so why not start now?

3. NETWORK! NETWORK! NETWORK!

There’s a synergy divide in Dayton that is closer to being extinguished every day. Attend the events you will personally enjoy, donate personal time to help a few individuals that need it, and ally with like-minded people. The game-changing relationships you want and need will come in due time.

4. Grudges are for teenagers and bitter old men.

If you can accept the fact that one day everyone goes (even you) you’ll realize that the people that can’t let go of the past aren’t the ones worth being around. Pressing the disconnect button isn’t as difficult as you’d imagine and everyone should do it more often. Distant yourself from all negative energies and create something positive instead.

We hope these words will encourage you to be a better decision maker in your personal adventures and professional ventures. We are still learning every day and would love to hear from you, so if there’s anything you’d like to add feel free to get in touch.
